Many thanks to all the designers who who have submitted entries. A few pointers: #23- I like the handshake. It brings out that collegial feeling we are trying ti depict in the logo. The problem is that it is not "executive" enough. #17 is closest to what we are looking for. I is not the same old same old circle. Now Erwinz can add something to show that collegial feeling referred to above. The circular writing of the association name as in #16 is preferable. More later.

Thanks to each designer who has submitted. In response to the drafts, it is difficult for me to depict in picture form what would be the ideal logo. I can only put it in words. The pictures may provide symbolism/ meaning to the association members. They are not meant to instruct or restrict designer from creative output. In other words it is not something like this flag+map+national colors+association name=logo.

The central idea is that the emigres are reaching back to help heal their motherland. Hows can we depict the emigres? Probably as business executives? How do they reach out? Alfa Romeo logo is quite intriguing. It can guide and does not have to be taken literally. We don't have to have a circular logo--we just want an appealing logo.

Please note how the Alpha romeo logo--inside is divided into two--on the left-is the red cross and on the right the green snake. Could we have kind of a balancing too--with motherland represented by the colors/flag etc (and it doesn't have to be the map/flag as whole--just depictions), and on the other hand--the Diaspora? The logo should be a complete message so that even without writing Kenya Diaspora Development Collaborative, someone looking can deduce what it may mean.

Kenya---supplied national symbols
Diaspora----These are the emigres--should be depicted --
Development--This is mainly economic development through innovation--as we know cutting edge innovation is now high tech
Collaborative--this depicted by symbols of cooperation, collaboration, joint venture etc

So far, I like #8 because it has tried to get out of the box--the edge is not a ring and the color choices are cool.. #6 stands out because the green symbol of collaboration (nice try). 1 to 5 are essentially the same thing--map/flag inside a circle. For #3 and #4--I like the color choices
