#10 Nice concept. You may bring the drawing to the fore--to make the child come alive.
#15. Good attempt. To evoke emotions, the focus should be on the child's face--not the whole body. So what's stopping your design from coming to life is because the child's face is blank-so its just like a toy.
#20 Nice concept. The child can be in a more sympathetic state.
#22 Nice concept of using the helping hand. Is there a way of having a more sympathetic child?
#24 Excellent use of hands. Is there a way of having a child sketch being on the receiving end. The drawing doesn't have to be whole body just face --up torso so arms can stretch.
#25 Good approach using the the palm--if we can have a more sympathetic child.
#27 Very unique approach-- if we can have a more sympathetic baby child.
#31 A very good attempt--I like the way the palms can also look like leaves. Now if we can have just one baby child as per discussion above.
#32, you have done a great job--if only you can also incorporate a sketch of a baby.
#2-9, I am trying to understand the great meaning behind the drawings. They are interesting though.
The rest, I will comment later.

A word of thanks to all designers. I wish to say a few pointers as a way of helping clarify the concept. For those who have included drawings of a child, it would be much more stronger of the depiction of a child is an illustration. I guess a better term is "sketch". It would also be better if the child is one not two. We can either make the child happy (already fed and fulfilled) or hungry (not necessarily crying but in a state of want) In my view, it is much more easy to appeal to people's emotions with a child evokes sympathy. We are interested in a very young child. In English there is a distinction between baby and child. In Swahili, Watoto refers to children up to age age 12. When I googled child--I get school age children.

To get the type of age we are focusing on, I finally tried using "toddler", "baby" and finally got the type of age we are interested in. http://www.google.ca/search?q=child+illustration&hl=en&safe=off&prmd=imvns&source=lnms&tbm=isch&ei=jz1IT7jiCYi70QHzuvW5Dg&sa=X&oi=mode_link&ct=mode&cd=2&sqi=2&ved=0CA8Q_AUoAQ&biw=1252&bih=568#hl=en&safe=off&tbm=isch&sa=1&q=baby+sketch&pbx=1&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.r_cp.r_qf.,cf.osb&fp=d3c570c8f20cfb5a&biw=1252&bih=568.

A sympathetic baby can be in many poses.
1. Looking directly
2. Sucking thumb
3. Sleeping
4. with clasped hands
5. with an empty cup
6. Looking desolate
7. Lying listless not sleeping
8. disgruntled

Finally, the hair--should be that a black child.

please see attachment.

if CH say "No More Child Hunger In "somewhere"" and you draw a kenya map,and i follow you to make a kenya,it can say i steal your idea.. or maybe you are the first person in the world who make a kenya map,and i copy your designs without permision, thats may a violation..but in this case, the words "kenya" is a part of the brief in my opinion,so i draw it.. come on dude,it's just an "idea accident",Do not exaggerate this problem :)

anyway,is the contest still goes on?

ia > Sorry, i didn't know that u already submitted the "Logo for Diaspora Group". But, in fact, for the ethics in this contest, you supposed to not make the same idea, if there is other designer has submitted the one idea. Except, the idea comes from the Contest Holder, let say, the Contest Holder says = "All designer can use the Kenya Map for element of designs..." and then we can use it, no worry if the others use the same idea or not. Well, this is just the ethics, not the rules.

Let say, for another sample, in the other contest you are the first person who use the "Tree Silhouette" to convey the message for the name of the company, but the next designers use the same idea you have created, how do you feel ? And then the designer who steal your idea chosen as the winner, how do you feel? I'm sure that you must be think that the winner steal your idea, right? Right. Just feel the same way as i think. I saw your profile just now, and i praise you for your designs are good. I believe you can create another idea the best that you can do. With humble heart, i apologies for what i have to say. Thank you, friend. And i say this also for gaviasa #27 .

To ia who submit #24 = don't you feel that you have stolen my idea? I create the logo with Kenya Map for the BG of child picture. And you use "my idea" too, you use Kenya Map the same as i created my own logo. Can't you use another idea? can't use your own idea, your original idea? Not my idea, please. Thank you.

#1. Thanks for submitting. The quality of the graphics is crisp and appealing to the eye. But the message in the graphical is not explicit. It is a little bit generic, i.e if looked at by itself--what message does it convey. It could be school children, or kids playing in the backyard or even an adult and a child, since they are different sizes. Finally, the kids ages should be between 0-5--not school going age.

A logo that represents a good model is found here: http://vivakenya.org/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/lisha-logo-example-b-ia.jpg.

That is a logo of a health facility.
The logo depicts care in an elegant and attractive way. This serves as an example of what is possible.
